East Home For The Aged
Geylang East Home For The Aged was founded in December
1978. It is a community home situated at HDB void deck
and managed fully by a team of dedicated volunteers.
It has provided many destitute with a place of comfort
over the years. As we are not a member of the Community
Chest, we depend on donations from well-wishers, public
and we also organized events and activities to raise
funds to defray expenses.
It was registered under the Charities Act on 24-6-1986.

Its objectives are:
a) To provide a place of abode and proper care to aged
persons who are in need, including the provision of
recreational facilities, which will also be available
for use by other senior citizens.
b) To provide community-based day care, befriending
services, rehabilitation services as well as other charitable
services and assistance to the elderly, especially those
who are weak and poor, without discrimination as to
race, language or religion.
c) To carry out welfare work for the good of mankind,
for example the provision of financial and personal
support to those who are old and weak.
In furtherance of the above objectives, the Home may
do all things necessary to achieve them subject to the
approval of the relevant authorities.
Finance & Funding
The funds of the Home are derived from the following:

A. Inmates who are receiving MCYS subsidy shall, after
reserving $50 for themselves, contribute the balance
to meet the daily expenses of the Home.
B. Donations from sponsors.
C. Donations and contributions from members of the public.
D. The Home also collects nominal fees from the family
members of the respite care service users.
E. Fund raising activities organised by the Home.
