Give a Ride to the Aged

We provide more than a shelter. At Geylang East Home for the Aged, we cater to the accommodation needs of 37 residents with no alternative living arrangements. They are low/no income seniors who are unable to live with their families due to breakdown in relationships.

With the lack of family support, we put in place care plans and assist our residents with their medical needs. They require an expansive range of healthcare services in the community. Most, if not all, of our residents are unable to afford their needs.

Your donation will help defray the cost of transportation for medical appointments, medical escort, and mobility devices (eg. wheelchair, rollator frame, etc.) required for our residents.

Project #JiakKaHo

At Geylang East Home for the Aged, we care for 37 seniors with no alternative living arrangements. They are low/no income seniors who are unable to live with their families due to poor relationship ties. By providing a supportive environment, we hope to enable them to age in place and maintain positive physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.

We aim to provide a well-balanced diet in our 4 meals to keep our residents nourished. At times, we also hope to prepare special treats to brighten up their day!

All donations raised will be used for the residents’ meals (breakfast/ lunch/ teabreak/ dinner). We also welcome donors who would like to drop-off purchased meals at our Home. Kindly contact us at 6745 3465 or email to [email protected] to liaise with us on the meal arrangement.

Your donation enables our residents to eat better and will boost their spirits in this season! Thank you for supporting us in caring for the aged.

Lift Up With Us! #Matching Fund ND2021

With the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, 2021 is no difference from its previous year (2020), it is difficult times for everyone.

Nonetheless, we continue to celebrate our nation’s birthday in different style. This year, 21 seniors and our volunteers co-created 21 uniquely hand-sewed and hand-painted tote bags that represent 2021.

About the Tote bag
The tote bag is designed by Ms. Eddyson Liew and sewed by the Geylang East Home for the Aged (GEHA) volunteers. The Singapore map on the bag is hand-painted by our seniors from across 3 services: Sheltered Home, Senior Care Centre and Harmony Activity Centre.

The map of Singapore is filled with patterns and colours that depicts our hopes and dreams, setting better days ahead. Through their own individual free-flowing creativity and effort, our volunteers and seniors from the Pioneer and Merdeka generation came together and painted 21 Singapore maps on the bags.

You have the power to help us to improve their quality of life and enabling them to continue living in the environment they are comfortable with in their golden years.

Every donation matters and are vital to us.

Donations of $200 and above will be entitled to one free tote bag.

TYPES OF DONATIONS

MEAL DONATION

GEHA provides 4 meals a day for 365 days a year for close to 80 seniors. We outsourced our lunch and dinner to certified caterers who ensured good quality and hygiene. Thus, this increased GEHA’s expenditure on meals for our seniors.

During weekends, it would be good for our Sheltered Home residents to experience different variety of food, eg. bak kut teh, prawn noodles, fish soup, kway chup, chicken rice and Teochew porridge. We encourage individual / business donor(s) to bring them out for meals or provide a hearty packet meal for them in our Home.

Please contact our staff at 6745 3465 to make arrangements. For your convenience, please complete the meal donation form and our staff will get in touch with you shortly.
